wk 8 argument 2 Arisza

I have learned a great deal about leadership from my courses at Grand Canyon University. I thought prior to enrolling in this program that I knew a lot about leadership and all that entails. I have read books by Steven Covey, John Maxwell, James Collins and many more. They all seem to give the same messages, but with their own special spin. One of my favorite books is called Soup by Jon Gordon. It’s a fable that talks about building a team through relationship building. It’s simple, yet informative. Anyone reading this book would appreciate the simplicity it offers. On the other hand, the courses in this program have provided the meat to my leadership growth. I have been able to take so much back to my role, but most importantly the importance of preparation. According to Marker, Johnsen and Caswell (2009), many leaders react rather than initiate change which in the long haul causes many problems.

When it comes to my dissertation topic, I have did a huge shift in my topic after attending residency. I realize the importance in finding the gap in literature in order to finalize my topic. Understanding the importance of this literature has really caused me to do some heavy evaluation.
