The interview process is one of the most stress-inducing phases of the job search process. But, by understanding the communication techniques used in the interview process, you can manage your stress and illustrate your interpersonal and oral communication skills.

  1. Survey of Types of Interviewing: Research behavioral interviewing, telephone interviewing, group interviewing, panel interviewing, task-oriented interview, stress interview, and individual interview. Define each interview type. Make sure to research the type of interview you are most likely to encounter in your field.
  2. General Interview Questions & Field-Specific Interview Questions
    1. Create a list of 10 general interview questions that you should be able to answer during an interview
    2. Create a list of 10 field-specific interview questions that you should be able to answer during an interview.
    3. Prepare answers to at least 5 of the 20 questions using the interview methods discussed in class.
