A very happy occasion (Eid-ul fitre) was knocking at the door of the people of Bangladesh and it came as a nightmare for all. On night 1 July 2016, Friday around 8.30 pm at the Holey Artisan Bakery, a group of attackers with sword, firearms, bomb held hostage 20 foreigners and few children. This place was a popular eatery for the foreigners and was situated in diplomatic quarter of the capital of Bangladesh. Panicked patrons took shelter under their tables and others ran on to the stairs. Very few jumped on to rooftops and saved their life. In order to save them law enforcers came and tried to enter in to the restaurant. Two police officers were died in bomb blasting and several were injured. The situation was running out of hand. Nobody had clue what was happening over there and what was the condition of the hostages. Very few secretly contacted with their family over phone to save them or to say forever good bye. Along with theRapid Action BattalionandBorder Guards Bangladesh, police set up a perimeter.To end the hostage crisis Bangladesh Army, paramilitary Border Guard Bangladesh, police and elite force Rapid Action Battalion pushed a joint drive. Bangladesh Army with 9 tanks and 9 jeeps attacked restaurant to rescue the hostage at 7.40 am. Including 20 hostages 28 people were dead. They were Italians, Japanese, Bangladeshi, American and Indian.
